Submissions to the newsletter are always needed and gratefully accepted. Send them to the Editor at the Post. Deadline for the next issue is the December 10th Post Meeting.

Hello Comrades,
The bus trip to the National home for children in Mi. was a real nice trip and the Illinois post really came thru with the donations. Total was just under $30,000.00 for the home.
We had a post clean up and a few things were accomplished. We are trying to make the post look real good for Veterans Day.
Veterans day the post honor guard will be shooting the weapons down at the Will County Courthouse. The program will start at 10:00 hrs.
The outside of the post has been painted and looking good. The back parking lot cleaned up and the eagle out front has been repainted. Mary Parks re-did the front flower pots with new Mum plants, they look great.
Calling all volunteers from the fish fry, bingo, Honor guards and post clean-up helpers. The post request your attendance at the up-coming appreciation dinner that will be held on the 15 th of Nov at 3pm. Dinner at 4pm. Please try to attend with your spouse.
The fish Fry's are going great and the last one for the year will be the 20th of Nov. We will re-start on the 8th of Jan 2010.
The post is hosting a spaghetti fund raiser for Operation Care Package. This will take place on the 18th of Nov from 11am to 7pm. All the profits will go to OCP. We are asking all the volunteer workers to please park in the back lot. We will be needing the space up front.

Hello Comrades,
Just a quick note, I would like to mention the recent bus trip to The National Home. Personally it provided me with a new understanding of one of the many successful missions we have here at our organization. Don't forget to join your fellow members, not only to share in the experience but to represent your post, Cantigny.
Also, Appreciation Dinner - For our Volunteers of the Fish Fry, Pancake Breakfast, Bingo, Honor Guards and Post clean-up helpers. A dinner will be held in your honor here a Catigny November 15, at 4:00pm.
Thank you for your dedication and selfless acts.

In addition to Post Quartermaster, I have taken the role of Post Webmaster. Our website,
www.vfw367.org, is new and (hopefully) improved and it is easier to maintain. One new
feature is a calendar of upcoming events that is summarized on the home page and can be
viewed in detail by clicking on the "calendar" link on the home page. The second new
feature is an online version of the post newsletter, available free of charge by clicking on
the "newsletter" link on the home page.
I am always open to suggestions for improving the website or correcting any mistakes.

I attended the Service Officer’s Seminar on October 24, 2009, in Decatur, IL. It was very educational and I learned a lot. If you have any problems with the VA, need to file a claim, or need to know about their rules or policies on claims come ask me. If I don’t know the answer for your problem, I can safely say that I know someone who can give you an answer. All contacts with the Service Officer about claims or other problems are strictly confidential.
